Summer Clothing Picks: FOREVER 21

Hi guys! Welcome to my new series Summer Clothing Picks! For this series I will show you guys some of my favorite pieces from a variety of places. I hope you guys enjoy and thank you again for all your support! Happy Summer! 

1.) V- Neck Textured Shift Dress $34.90

You can never go wrong with a shift dress. It is simple yet chic and can be worn in so many ways. I love this particular one for the sharp v-neck. It gives the dress a chic edge without adding too much. This dress is an online exclusive so if you want it get it while you can! It can also transition into the fall paired with some dark tights and thigh high boots and of course a nice black leather jacket.

2.) Buttoned Chiffon Cami $14.90

Camis are a great staple in every wardrobe especially during the hot summer days. I love the buttons on this one. I think it adds a little something extra and can be paired with shorts, skirts, pants and denim.

3.) Chiffon Trapeze Dress $29.90

Trapeze dresses have been all the rage this past year and for good reason. Trapeze dresses offer comfort and versatility. But at the same time are delicate and beautiful. 

4.) Hooded Open Front Cardigan $32.90

This cardigan is great for those cool summer nights at the beach in front of a bonfire. It is easy to throw onto any outfit and also a great transition piece into the fall. 

5.) Strappy Cutout Crop Top $14.90

Of course it wouldn't be summer without a crop top. This one adds a little edge and a touch of sexiness to your summer wardrobe. It pairs with pretty much anything high waisted and can be dressed up or down. 

Forever 21 Clothing Haul!

Hey y'all! Forever 21 is having a BOGO FREE sale this week and of course being obsessed with clothes I had to pick some stuff up. So here is my first ever blog clothing haul.

Love, love harem pants! These are so light and comfortable and can be dressed down or up. Definitely a must have for the cool spring weather.

Who doesn't love pajamas? These are super thin and comfortable and not to mention adorable!

Like the harem pants, these are just a more billowy and looser version. These pants can be paired with pretty much anything and are super trendy especially with the warmer weather coming up.

4.) Lucky Spike Bangle $4.99

I'm not a big jewelry person, but I thought this piece was pretty cute and casual and something I could work with pretty much any outfit to dress it up a bit.

Every girl needs a classic pair of dark wash skinny jeans! Great for just everyday wear or a night out with the girls or that special someone. Can be paired with literally any top and looks great with heels. And $8 jeans?!? You can't really beat that.

6.) Striped Driftwood Romper w/Belt $11.99

Rompers are great for the spring time. They are an outfit all by itself so there is no fuss when it comes to what to wear, you can't go wrong with a romper EVER. They come in all sorts of colors and designs. This particular one is no longer available however Forever 21 has so many other styles and colors that are equally affordable. 

7.) Statement- Making Soup Muscle Tee $13.80

I been obsessed with muscle tees this year. They are just so effortless and easy to wear and has more coverage than a spagetti strap tank. I love this particular one not only because I love Campbell's soup but it has a Andy Warhol feel to it. 

8.) Color blocked Dolphin Shorts $11.99

These shorts just scream summer to me. Very chic and easy to pair with more colorful tops. These are a bit on the shorter side, so taller people beware it might show some butt cheeks.

9.) Athletic Pullover Sweatshirt $9.99

A very simple sweatshirt great for working out in or just lounging around. These sweaters are a staple in my closest. You can pair them with shorts, skirts, workout pants, or even over a dress. Because it is an athletic pullover it is a light weight, breathable fabric. Also great for layering. This particular one also comes in a green color.

Yes, another muscle tee like I mentioned before I AM OBSESSED! This one combines three of my favorite things muscle tee, dogs, and French words.

Sweater for your butt?!?!

As you can probably tell by the title I might sound a little weird but I literally meant what I said. I was watching YouTube the other day in the middle of night like always when I can't sleep. I most particularly love watching hauls. A haul is a show and tell video of what a person bought. There are many different types of hauls on YouTube from video games, makeup of course, even grocery hauls! It can be weird watching what other people buy and also very addicting because sometimes you just wanna immediately buy all the stuff you see (this may or may not happen to me once... or twice... ok maybe three times but don't deny you have at least watched one haul video and literally went to the store the next day to get it... it's ok I won't judge). One of the hauls I stumbled upon on was Macbarbie07''s Fall and Winter clothing haul (I'll link her channel and the video at the end of this post). One of the pieces she got were these pair of shorts from Urban Outfitters and one look I fell in love. I am a huge fan of sweaters I wear them all year around whenever I can. And the fact that these were sweaters for your butt well I just had to get them. Here are what they look like 

These shorts are AMAZINGGGGG!!!! Not only these shorts will keep your booty warm these also make your booty look great even for those like me who don't got no booty. They are a bit high waisted but nothing granny like and are super comfortable to wear. The tribal print is also very nice but isn't too overwhelming and can match with most tops. It also has an elastic waistband so even those (like myself as well lol) with a bit of a tummy these shorts will hide them. When the weather gets a bit colder just layer some tights or leggings underneath. 

They come in 4 sizes XS, S, M, L (they fit pretty true to size) and also come in 2 different colors. This one has a bit of burgundy and the other one is a black tribal print. Here is more information if you are interested. Urban Outfitters do sell out certain things pretty fast and I'm sure these shorts are no exception so if you like them hurry and go get them! Once they are gone chances are they either will take a long ass time to restock or not restock them at all.

Fashion with a conscience

As the world grows bigger us humans need to begin to think of living more consciously. The more consciously we live the longer we can remain on this beautiful planet, however being the creatures we are compared to other species among us we tend to be materialistic. When I use the word materialistic I don't necessarily mean it in a judgmental way. It is pretty much part of our lifestyle to be materialistic between shopping for the necessities like food and shelter we also spend money on things that make ourselves generally happy such as video games, cosmetics, clothing, etc... 

Over the years my love of clothes has become an addiction ask my friends and family. In college I was able to fit about 40 pairs of jeans into my small dorm closet. And that was just jeans... I know what you are probably thinking why the hell would anyone need 40 pairs of jeans? I can't even answer that myself. But even with this great love/addiction for clothes I do feel bad and wishing for a way to be able to still enjoy getting clothes yet doing good at the same time. 

Threads for Thought is a clothing company that makes clothing out of recycled and sustainable products like plastic. The company started by selling t-shirts made from organic cotton that gave back to charity while promoting a cleaner environment. Compared to other clothing companies that have the same message Threads for Thought rather than put their mission statement label onto the clothing themselves they put into the clothing instead. 

And no this isn't some sort of hippie trend. The clothes are actually really good quality and are extremely comfortable not to mention on trend for those fashionistas out there. However due to the process of making these clothes and the limited retailers the clothes are on the pricer side, but then again it is not really a place to go to for everyday basics. They do have sales occasionally but the price you pay unlike other clothing companies is put to good use. Also www.hautelook.com has flash sales where you can get Threads for Thought clothing items for $20 and less (Invite link will be posted at the end of this post). Plus the clothing does last a long time even with multiple washes. The clothing fits true to size not just for me but I have asked a couple of friends and people around who have had experience in purchasing clothing from them. Leggings Are Not Pants

The use of leggings as pants has spread like wildfire over the last few years making it into a somewhat of a cultural norm. When it comes to fashion there are no rules it is your body and you should dress however you like following trends can get extremely boring however when it comes to wearing leggings as pants a big no no unless you do it the right way....
Leggings are meant for layering something used to dress up an outfit or making a shirt seem like dress. I understand the convenience and the comfort factor leggings have believe me but having your ass out there is not the most ladylike or fashion forward thing to do. Of course the guys love it but as women we do need to have some sense of modesty and respect for ourselves. So heres the good news if you really prefer to wear leggings as pants here are some tips

1.) Go for a thicker material: Not only it looks good it feels good. Thicker leggings give you all the support you need as well as showing off your figure minus the involuntary booty shaking while walking. 

2.) It's all about balance: If you are going to wear something tight on the bottom balance it out with something more loose fitting on top like an oversized sweater or a high/low cut chiffon blouse (Been loving this sheer blouse from LuLu's with leggings http://www.lulus.com/products/busy-as-a-v-navy-blue-top/115802.html it comes in a bunch of colors and get them while you can they are always sold out and takes awhile to restock)

And last but not least.... 

3.) Get the right fit: When it comes to leggings most sizes come in XS to XLL and not numbers. So please TRY THEM ON. Leggings do not look good too tight or too loose. Just because you may fit into the size at the rest of the store it doesn't mean you will fit into that size in leggings.
