Guardians of the Galaxy is an superhero movie based on the Marvel comic of the same name. It stars Chris Pratt as the main character, Peter Quill, who was abducted at a young age from earth by a group of creatures known as the Ravagers, or space pirates. Along the way he finds an orb like object that could cause the destruction of the universe. He along with an unlikely group of 4 others Rocket (Bradley Cooper), a genetically engineered raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid (Vin Diesel), Gamora (Zoe Saldana- it is like she never left Pandora with a change of color of course), a green human alien, and Drax the destroyer (Dave Bautista), a warrior come together to retrieve the orb from the evil Ronan (Lee Pace), a Kree, who wants to eliminate the Xandarins.
I was genuinely surprised at how much I loved this film. Marvel comics turned movies don't always exceed expectations especially if you are familiar with the original comics themselves and of course same goes for books turned movies as well. However, whether or not if you are familiar with the comics the movie is a hit and something everyone will enjoy. Plenty of laughs, tears, and of course action and of course an all star cast. Guardians of the Galaxy is now playing at a theater near you.
