Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains vs. Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms vs. Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms

Revlon recently released two different lip products into their collection both chubby lip crayons. The first one is a matte lip balm and the second one is a lacquer lip balm. Last year they also released their infamous Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain which is also a lip crayon product. So what is the difference between these three if any? Hopefully this post will help break it down.

REVLON JUST BITTEN KISSABLE BALM STAINS:

 Swatches from left to right:
Lovesick (020): Cool-toned fuchsia
Romantic (045): Apple Red
Darling (010): Cool-toned baby lavender

PACKAGING: Comes in a plastic chubby crayon packaging that has a twist up bottom. The packaging is very similar to Clinique Chubby Sticks.

FORMULATION: Balm stains provide a sheer tint of color to your lips. These stains are pigmented enough to give you color but not so much that it becomes too overwhelming hence the name "stain". It applies very smoothly and feels very light and moisturizing on the lips. In terms of wear time due to the staining effect it can last between anywhere from 4-8 hours depending on eating and drinking throughout the day. These also have a nice minty scent to them like the Tarte Lip Surgence Lip Stains.

REVLON COLORBURST MATTE BALMS:

Swatches from left to right:
Unapologetic (210): Matte Pinky coral
Elusive (205): Matte Mid-toned pink

PACKAGING: Comes in the same crayon packaging as the stain balms but with a matte overcoat.

FORMULATION: Just like the name, these are MATTE balms. There is no shimmer but some of them do have a bit of a satin finish. They apply on very smoothly and are not drying at all for a matte lip product. The wear time is around 4-5 hours. I do recommend wearing a lip balm under it if you have really dry lips.

Swatches from left to right:
Whimsical (115):Purple toned pink
Coquette (110): Peony Pink
Ingenue (145): Light caramel nude

PACKAGING: Same as the other lip balms mentioned above

FORMULATION: These lacquer balms have a nice sheen to them kind of like apply a gloss over a lip stick but with a longer wear time (4-5 hours). These don't feather out throughout the day and are also very moisturizing.
