Review: Benefit Rollerball Mascara NEW!!!

Benefit Rollerball Mascara

PACKAGING:

When it comes to packaging, Benefit never disappoints. The Rollerball Mascara comes in a black tube with a "soft" baby pink cap that has little indentations in it. The cap not only is adorable but functional as well providing a nice grip during application.

The brush is a curved rubber wand. The shape of the wand is functional for a nice curl and length but difficult to reach the inner corner lashes.

FORMULATION:

I love love love the formulation of this mascara. It provides great length and holds your curls, even those stubborn Asian lashes. You really don't need more than 2 coats for long lashes. It doesn't provide as much volume as I would like, but if you already have voluminous lashes then this should not be a problem for you. The color payoff is pretty nice it isn't super dark but just enough to give your lashes a kick. As for the wear  time, the mascara isn't advertised as waterproof but rather long wearing for up to 12 hours and it is just that. I have had this mascara on for almost 24 hours and didn't have any big issues aside from a little bit of flakiness. I also had some issues with dryness of my lashes. It didn't harden them like rocks like what most mascaras do to my lashes but it was very dry a couple hours into wearing it.

But overall this is an amazing mascara and definitely worth trying!

New Mascaras SHOWDOWN

MAYBELLINE PUMPED UP COLOSSAL VS. L'OREAL VOLUMINOUS MILLION LASHES EXCESS

MAYBELLINE PUMPED UP COLOSSAL
Packaging: Very similar to the Maybelline Rocket Power mascara packaging except hot pink instead of blue. The brush is a cylinder shape that is tapered at the end. The want itself is not flexible, but stays very well in place.

Formulation: I was a bit disappointed with the formulation of this one. I love the original colossal formula so I had high expectations for this one. To get decent looking lashes it requires a couple of coats. The brush is prickly feeling so be careful when applying.

Overall: 3.5/5

Also comes in a waterproof formula.

L'OREAL VOLUMINOUS MILLION LASHES EXCESS
Packaging: Comes in a red and gold tube. The brush is long and flexible and is plastic unlike the Maybelline one which is hair.

Formulation: I was very impressed with this mascara. It held the curl of my lashes while giving decent volume and is a great mascara to layer on top of others. I like the plastic wand, it gives a more flexible control when applying. Only downside is that it doesn't come in a waterproof formula and can get flaky throughout the day.

Overall: 4.8/5

PRICE BREAKDOWN (depending on where purchased)
Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal
$5-7

L'Oreal Excess
$8-11

Both mascaras are available at drugstores nationwide as well as Targets and Wal-marts near you!

Review: Physician's Formula Natural Origin FakeOut Mascara

PACKAGING: Comes in the classic Physicians Formula mascara packaging except in a hot pink color. The mascara wand is also very similar to their other mascaras big, plastic and bendy bristles. On the front of the tube there is a simple yet pretty leaf design (on the cap as well).
Overall Packaging 5/5

FORMULATION: This mascara claims to give your lashes volume and length that makes you look like you are wearing fake lashes. The formula itself is a semi-wet thick consistency that coats the lashes pretty well. It can get clumpy if you have too much product on the brush. It did give nice length and volume but nothing too out of the ordinary. It didn't exactly make my lashes go bam but it did give a natural but better appearance. It also claims 24 hour wear and this is a big no no. It wasn't designed to be a waterproof or water-resistant mascara however they claimed it is very long lasting till the end when you want to take it off. If you don't touch your lashes or get in contact with any sort of liquids you should be fine. However my eyes started tearing for a bit during the day and next thing I knew I had raccoon eyes. So do be cautious.
Overall Formulation: 3.5/5
